Goals become possibilities. If you like an idea, hopefully you will share it with others with some kind words. My 2nd goal is to offer some ideas for you if you are shopping. Hopefully, I have used some of these ideas myself. I will tell you about the ideas I have personally used. To start our program, I want to share how I lost 95 pounds in the past 10 months. I was visiting my Dr. and he started talking about my weight. He asked if I wanted to be a diabetic. I said no. It seemed my weight had climbed to 309 lbs. Now, if I were around 25 years old, was 6 feet 2 inches tall, and played on the offensive or defensive line, 309 lbs. would not be so bad, however…..I was 68 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, and rode my chair and couch most days….yes, according to what I read online, I was obese…..I was asked if I wanted pills or to try losing weight without pills…. I chose no pills….
Upfront, I do not like reading programs about losing weight as they usually end with buying pills. I have used one pill. It is called a water pill, and my doctor suggested it. Cost to me, through Medicare, is free. I once lost weight when working out daily, and did not need a water pill. Hopefully, that is your case. Profit to me is “0” in both cases….
On the 20th of January, 2025, I weighed 309 lbs. On Nov. 20th, I weighed 213 lbs. A 95-pound weight loss.
My goal is to weigh 199 before January 1st.…. After the doctor’s visit, my first step was to go to calculator.net and other sites for a body weight maintenance calculator. I learned I was obese and I would need 2850 calories, on a daily basis, to maintain this weight. This meant I could
- Keep eating lots of food or
- Eat a bit less and change what I am eating to lose weight.
I chose ‘Option 2’. Also, please forgive me, as I am watching the movie “ELF” in the background, and I sometimes pay a bit more attention to the movie than to writing…Hopefully you can focus for a few minutes as I explain how I lost the first 20 plus pounds in one month….
I heard that eggs could help reduce appetite with limited calories and they had lots of protein. Also, I heard that there were limited calories in salads, skinless fish fillets, and skinless chicken breast. These then became the basis of what I was eating. I also tried to check the salt content in the foods I ate. I started the water pill in the 2nd week. From January 20th until February 20th, I lost over 20 lbs. and my cost was “0”.
The next 9 months of weight loss will be described in two days on December_____.

Welcome to Touch Your Dreams entry 2: Over 20 pounds lost during month 1. The next 75 lbs. were slower yet continued with good results. Month 2, March: 15 lbs. Month 3, April: 15 lbs. Month 4, May: 10 pounds. Month 5, June: 10 pounds Month 6, July: 10 pounds
Month 7, August: 5 pounds, 8 September: 5 pounds. Month 9, October: 0 pounds. Month 10, November: 5 pounds. Please keep in mind I started at 309 pounds and did not work out…If you are a smaller or larger person, have a different workout or eating situation or a different health situation, your results will be different
What were some of the challenges:
- I did not work out in any of the months …. I lost weight; however, I felt a bit weak.
- I was very consistent for the months I lost 5 lbs, until October…I recorded the food I ate and the calories.
- I weighed myself daily and took my water pill. I stayed away from sweets and bread. During October, I would gain 5-10 pounds each day and then lose 5 to 10 pounds overnight.
I had cut the water pill in half for several months and went back to full strength at the end of Month 10-November. I also increased water intake on some days and ate a few more sweets and bread in October. These items made a difference. I then knew I was taking a few days to go to Orlando for our anniversary, so I was more careful with food the last few weeks in November…thus, I made it to 213 lbs. Weight loss at this point is 95 pounds. Cost for the entire weight loss is “0”. As I ate quite a bit the past few days, I will be investing in a scale tomorrow…A scale has helped keep me in line and will help me while on my trip
Notes:
A few months ago, I read about a service offering insight into AI companies. Its investment was over $1000. Today, while writing, I read about a service offering insight to investing in companies that may beat AI companies. its investment was $178. Finally, today I read about a company predicting bank collapses that offered its ratings for around $70. All of the companies have experts with great track records. The interesting thing is that they could all be wrong; however, track records would seem to say they could each be correct just at different times…With my training and experiences, I wish I could tell you who the correct people are to believe and when to believe them. My prayer is that you can understand some of what is said and make wise choices.
My grandpa once said:
“You do not have to make something that costs a million dollars. Just make something a million people would pay 1 dollar for both ways can help others and help you.”
